1  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: Movie Playing on: 2007-01-21 05:45:24
But what other options are there? I've read some of the posts in the forum and googled for hours and haven't found any obvious and good solution to this. And it seems to me as though Java does not implicitly support video playing. Is there a better, more pleasent way to do this that I have missed?

OK this will be very helpful. Thanks!

Is there a way to open Windows Media Player, give it a video file, and have it play in fullscreen mode? Or any other player?
4  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Collision Programming on: 2007-01-16 17:45:28
How does one do collision programming in java? Lets say i'm using pics for ship, and they are shooting at each other, how do I know when they are hitting each other? Assuming that it is not predetermined.

Hi, I'm trying to make an intro movie for an rts game. I'm a complete noob with java, so is there some class out there that I can just insert, specify a file, and play a video? Also, I'd like to be able to mute the video sound, and replace it with music (I have already figured out how to make my own music). How is this done? I'm looking for the simplest possible solution.

Also along the lines of simplicity, can the video player use .wmp files?
