1  Java Game APIs & Engines / OpenGL Development / Re: Water reflection - Skydome on: 2014-09-14 15:36:50
The Atmosphere skydome doesn't use any texcoords, the atmospheric scattering is calculated in the vertex shader and just output vertex color to the fragment shader.

The cloud/space hemisphere(half skydome) constructs UV'coords in the vertex shader by using the normal vector. vertexUV = normal.xz / (normal.y + 0.25);

I'm using a regular sphere/hemisphere that can be seen here:

2  Java Game APIs & Engines / OpenGL Development / Water reflection - Skydome on: 2014-09-14 14:00:57
Hey!

How do I reflect the day/night cycle on the water surface when using sphere, hemisphere and a plane for the whole sky? see pic: http://oi58.tinypic.com/2vvm2p5.jpg

I can only find tutorials when using a cubemap/skybox and not a skydome.

I'm using OpenGL 3.3 and GLSL 3.30.

Thanks in advance!
3  Java Game APIs & Engines / OpenGL Development / LWJGL - Update VBO problem. on: 2012-12-31 03:04:09
Hey!

My application doesn't work anymore when I changed graphic card, namely Transform Feedback (update VBO).

I can render all the points, but Transform feedback doesn't update the VBO. I checked also with "queryObject = GL15.glGenQueries();", 0 points stored in VBO.

Card before (Transform Feedback working)
AMD/ATI HD 5870

Now
Nvidia GTX 680

Couldn't find anything on the net about this problem.
4  Java Game APIs & Engines / OpenGL Development / Collision heightmap. on: 2012-06-16 07:34:07
Hey!

I have trouble with collision detection. My heightmap have quads and each quad have two triangles. A diagonal line connects two corners in each quad. How can I determine which quad and which side of the line the character is standing on?

Plane equation: Ax+By+Cz+D=0, N=(A, B, C).

I know how to calculate Y(Height), but I need three points of the triangle (under the character).

How can I calculate?

Thnx!!

And Slick2D is a Framework?

What is the difference between these?
7  Java Game APIs & Engines / OpenGL Development / Framework or API? on: 2012-06-14 08:11:50
Hi!

I have one easy question, is LWJGL a Framework or just an API?

thnx
