1  Java Game APIs & Engines / JInput / Jinput in Eclipse on: 2006-08-03 19:38:25
Hi,

I’ve read the tutorial in this forum and managed to run
 ant listControllers
 ant controllerDetails -Dcontroller=<number>
 ant pollController -Dcontroller=<number> -Daxis=<number>

in DOS. I found my keyboard, my mouse and my joystick info.

But now I want use Jinput in Eclipse. I’ve imported the project found in jiputTutorialOne-1-0 into my workspace in Eclipse and I’ve tried to run listContrller, controllerDetails and pollController without any success.

When I printed out controllers.length I got 0.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem??

Thanx
2  Java Game APIs & Engines / Java 3D / Re: Alpha Channel in a Texture on: 2006-07-03 19:03:30
Thanx for the Help!!

The result that I got is that, it doesn’t matter if your image has an alpha on it, you will have a shape with an alpha texture, meaning that your are not going to see the shape.

I had the same result using this code:

1
2
      TransparencyAttributes transAttnew TransparencyAttributes(TextureAttributes.COMBINE_REPLAXE,0.6f,TransparencyAttributes.BLEND_SRC_ALPHA,TransparencyAttributes.BLEND_SRC_ALPHA);

the alpha scale 0.6f doesn't matter.

But now I was wondering if I could see the other shape (the one that is inside) just by loading an image with an alpha on it.
Let me explain better:
In the texture of the front shape I would put an image with a draw and a part o this image just with an alpha. So then I would be able to see something of  the other shape because the loaded image had an alpha on it.

Hi,
I have a Shape3D and inside this Shape3D I have another Shape.
What I want to do is to put a texture with an alpha in the first shape3d so that I can see the other shape – the one that is inside.
I’m trying to use TextureAttributes and TransparencyAttributes but I’m not having any success.

Does anybody know how to do it??
If you know how to change the alpha channel of the texture so that I will be able to see the other shape, please tell me!!!!!!

Thanks

4  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: How to use a Shader in Java3D? on: 2006-05-29 18:30:12
Yes, Java3D 1.4.0 supports shader technology.

there are several classes like: ShaderAppearance, ShaderProgram etc
but I don't know how to use them in an animation
I've looked the java3D documentation but I haven't got any succeed on loading a shader to change the appearance of an object

Hi,
I’m trying to put a shader made in Cg in a Java3D animation.
But I really don’t know how to do it!

I was trying to create a moon sphere and than use a shader to chance the appearance of this moon.
After creating the moon, it’s texture etc, how can I put a shader on this animation?
Does anyone know how to do it??
