Would probably be better if you explain what you think the misinterpretation lies instead of using a passive aggressive smiley. Also,  I don't see the need to downplay Notch; if he wasn't good at game design, and if he's just another programmer like us, how is Minecraft so successful?

Minecraft isn't open-source.

There are de-obfuscated versions of the game's code, but to redistribute any versions of it would be illegal regardless of what modifications are made to it.

There wouldn't be anything to learn from its code either way.

When you want to "learn off" something having the full source has the same effect as the project being open source. Also what do you mean there would be nothing to learn? If op wants to see how one voxel engine works then minecraft is good to look at.

What's 270 for, is position the mouse position, and why do you need "angle +=" when you can probably just set the rotation?

You can draw actual 3d models in the orthogonal camera in libgdx, if that's what you want, or you can use PerspectiveCamera with billboard sprites from top down, I guess.

Yeah from what I've heard plat is the least toxic - lower elos are prone to extreme throw/feeding/tilt but higher elos (diamond) tend to be elitist.

Moved topic - to respond to the post though, a couple of things. First, it's highly unlikely that any team you find will be willing to use your engine especially when it's written in java2D. Besides this, please don't try to emphasize your own age because you think you're young to be programming, it's unprofessional in contrast to the rest of your post.

Even in a game like monaco you can still make very good use of box2d/box2dlights and it will certainly be faster than writing your own lighting code. I'm not sure what you mean by more efficient - top down games in box2d equate to basically just setting gravity to 0.

Not much point in having two wip boards, it'll be hard to categorize which should go where (too subjective) and will just end up being a lot of post moving with little real result. If anything, a "pre-wip" board will only encourage people to post when they don't even have a demo or proof of contest (more clutter).

Anyways to not go too off topic, both of the original sprites seem to be draw from a weird viewpoint. Why is the face facing the camera in a platformer? Looks more like something you'd see out of an RPG.
