3  Games Center / Showcase / Re: Radius on: 2015-02-02 06:16:19
I actually just found this forum looking for the best way to loop a background in LibGDX for the new game that I am working on. I saw that it was a really neat community and after reading the rules about posting to the showcase section, thought that I would post my work.

Didn't mean any harm by it.

I offer this as restitution for my grievous offence

You're fine, it's just that there are a lot of people that make an account, post here once, and never come back. It doesn't irk me personally, but apparently some people don't like it - I assure you not everyone is that prejudicial, though.

5  Discussions / General Discussions / Re: How do you feel about selling out? on: 2015-01-16 05:48:31
Without these lazy & ignorant consumers, the Minecraft IP would be nowhere near as valuable to Microsoft's milking department.

If you're going to revive old threads, you should probably improve your post quality Pointing

My game has a new ninja now!
Isn't that the ninja from Mini Ninjas?

8  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: Mouse coordinates all crazy? [Libgdx] on: 2015-01-07 02:10:41
even with only getting the input the mouse coordinates are crazy
Hard to help you when this is all the information you give. What's wrong with the mouse coordinates; what is your code doing and what is the desired output? If you want the player to follow mouse position you'll most likely have to unproject the mouse coordinates.

10  Discussions / Miscellaneous Topics / Re: What I did today on: 2015-01-06 04:18:36
Well I believe it was done to encourage game development. Not "game engine" development. The WIP was riddled with these tools instead of games. There's a huge discussion here:
Note, if you have any comments on this topic please post in that thread and not this one.

12  Java Game APIs & Engines / OpenGL Development / Re: lwjgl + sprite sheet on: 2015-01-06 04:16:43
In the future (generally) don't delete your post, just leave it here with the solution so maybe others with the same problem can find this post.
13  Discussions / General Discussions / Re: New rules regarding Game Engine topics on: 2015-01-06 00:49:25
Forum should not be devblog for something that is never going to end up anywhere.

Then I must have mistaken the forum's purpose, and should probably go delete my WIP thread. I kind of feel embarrassed posting updates if the forum was meant for professional games that are going to "end up somewhere."
Remember that this thread is about game engines. Making multiple small WIP games is the path to successfully making bigger projects, but it's often different for game engines/libraries.
14  Discussions / Miscellaneous Topics / Re: The Escapist! on: 2015-01-05 00:21:35
To surmise:

  • Incredibly ironic to encourage pirating and also claim to be an indie developer
  • Pirating is illegal and takes money away from developers, period.
  • Game developers are not entitled to give you anything other than what they explicitly promise
  • If you want people to listen to you seriously, then take our advice seriously

Overall, your behavior is immature, but it's not like you can't improve. I suggest you think before you post.

Now, everybody go back to your IDEs persecutioncomplex

16  Java Game APIs & Engines / Engines, Libraries and Tools / Re: LibGDX Android setup on: 2015-01-01 06:37:24
I have that error in my IDE as well, but my android libgdx projects compile/run fine. Check under Properties -> Android, and see if you have an android version selected.
17  Games Center / WIP games, tools & toy projects / Re: Airships: Conquer the Skies on: 2014-12-30 08:34:36
Nice to see you've continued working on this project. The art style is great, and I think the gameplay has a lot of potential. Gave you an upvote on greenlight Smiley
18  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: LibGDX interpolation on: 2014-12-30 08:31:49
Because I was trying to understand how interpolation, the concept, works in LibGDX. I was only using the Swing statement from earlier because it was something I found on a random example, after not being able to find any in depth explanations of interpolation in LibGDX. But I will keep looking.
Interpolation in libgdx, conceptually, is the same as interpolation anywhere else. I'm not sure if you don't understand interpolation as a concept, or how libgdx implements it.
19  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: LibGDX interpolation on: 2014-12-30 08:29:05
I don't mean to come across as angry, it's just that I expect forum members to at least try to solve their own problems before posting about them. In this case, I don't see how you intend to learn what
does if you're googling "How to interpolate libGDX". Besides, most interpolation types are pretty self-explanatory.
20  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: LibGDX interpolation on: 2014-12-30 08:18:45
Second google search link gives you the code on github (literally 2 lines). If you're using something blindly it's your own fault.
21  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: LibGDX interpolation on: 2014-12-30 07:44:32
If you want to fade in (linear interpolation implied), then I'm not sure why you're using Interpolation.Swing. Secondly, you should probably learn how to use google, it's a powerful tool and will save you a lot of time. API
22  Discussions / Miscellaneous Topics / Re: Motorola Moto G, Any Problems? on: 2014-12-28 18:43:25
It's a pretty decent phone. Battery life is good and it has enough processing power to run something like Asphalt 8 without any issues.

Any reason you're going around reviving all of these threads? Just got your CPR training or something?
It seems to be a common trend among the newbies. Newer members desperate to up their post count?

This is called collision masking among other names.

How would comparing rgb values be any different from comparing mass x velocity?
26  Discussions / Business and Project Management Discussions / Re: Recruitment for Team Technic on: 2014-12-25 17:59:32
i wasted 6 minutes on this image, that i will never get back! + uploading, posting, and typing all off this!
I think you may have mistaken JGO for 4chan. Don't need that kind of stuff here.
27  Games Center / Archived Projects / Re: Red Game 2D Engine (redone!) on: 2014-12-22 03:21:23
I can't find it tho...

I checked my projects on my profile and only found this topic and my old game engine's demo... (which I should delete)
I merged the two topics if you didn't notice...
28  Games Center / Archived Projects / Re: Red Game 2D Engine (redone!) on: 2014-12-22 02:35:59
I have changed the original post and it seems like my old one was already deleted...

But now can you actually have I look at it?
? Nothing has been deleted.
29  Games Center / Archived Projects / Re: Red Game 2D Engine (the redo!) on: 2014-12-22 02:12:53
That is from the "WIP Publication Reel"...

Yeah, and that's separate from the WIP board rules -
  • The topics in the WIP board are ordered by 'last reply' (usual forum behavior)
  • To request a migration to the Showcase board, it's usually enough to send a PM to one of the League of Dukes or explicitly make the request in the game topic.
  • Creating more than one topic (in any of the game boards) for your game is not allowed.
You haven't changed anything. It's not a new project.

Advanced warning...the initial setup is kind of a nightmare, but it's definitely worth it! Smiley
