1  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: LibGDX table independant cell sizing. on: 2015-11-25 21:55:24
Do colspan(3) on the list of names.
2  Discussions / Miscellaneous Topics / Re: [3dFoin] Limited time free model, November Sale 50% off all items on: 2015-11-11 03:10:35
Isn't Job's and Resumes wrong place for this post? Cranky
Actually, yes. Didn't even notice...
Moved to misc.
3  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: LibGDX - Can't read file file from assets folder using FileReader on: 2015-11-07 20:47:11
Is there a reason you're trying to read the JSON file from the desktop project? What's the problem with just putting it in the core project?
4  Discussions / Miscellaneous Topics / Re: Battlestation Thread on: 2015-10-30 22:47:40
Didn't clean it up...
5  Games Center / Showcase / Re: Random Big Rich Man on: 2015-10-23 22:37:53
It looks like a working game, so I see no reason not to post it. One of the best ways to improve is getting feedback. It's not like we're being flooded with tons of project posts every day.
6  Games Center / WIP games, tools & toy projects / Re: Ninja Runner on: 2015-10-19 22:54:20
Hi, usually we post games in the WIP section if it's currently in progress, or the showcase if it's done. The Featured board is exclusively for games picked by the moderators. Thanks Smiley
7  Games Center / Showcase / Re: Elevox - Early Demo on: 2015-09-09 00:08:47
Hey what did you use to rename all the variables in your java classes to the letters of the alphabet?
I didn't look at the source myself, but it's probably obfuscation.
8  Game Development / Game Mechanics / Re: LibGDX Screen to World coordinates on: 2015-08-29 04:35:56
By the way, you usually want to use a smaller scale (1/100, for example). In Box2D 1 unit = 1 meter, so just dividing by 2 means that stuff is still gonna be really big.
9  Discussions / Miscellaneous Topics / Re: What I did today on: 2015-08-29 04:32:01
Lot's of first today for me:
- Got my first job. At a resteraunt unfortunately but I need to start somewhere
- Got my first girlfriend Cheesy
- Probably failed my first Calculus test  Emo (well I probably didn't fail but I feel like I did)

So overall my day was pretty swell  Grin
Heh, at my school, the calc teacher intentionally makes the first test difficult to scare people. It'll probably get better Grin
10  Games Center / WIP games, tools & toy projects / Re: myWorld on: 2015-07-23 18:39:56
I removed your other post because it's the same as this one. If you want it moved to showcase, just ask (however, this seems like it's still being worked on, so WIP is probably the right board).
11  Discussions / General Discussions / Re: "The Nature of Code" on: 2015-07-07 04:57:43
Moved Smiley
12  Games Center / Showcase / Re: Stop Robots on: 2015-06-17 01:37:09
Removed the other one, I'm guessing it was a mistake but either way just know that you shouldn't double-post.
13  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: How Do I Expand My Game? on: 2015-06-14 18:40:45
Alright, moved and edited to reduce confusion.
14  Discussions / Jobs and Resumes / Re: Hayden Davenport - Video Game Composer for Hire on: 2015-06-09 23:28:26
All of your links (for whatever reason) have a %27 before them, are missing the colon between http and //, and have an apostrophe at the end, so they don't work right now.
15  Game Development / Game Mechanics / Re: Sharing components between the game screens (LibGDX) on: 2015-05-06 21:58:42
I imagine you'll only need one Network instance in the game, so why not make it static?
16  Games Center / Android Showcase / Puck Slide on: 2015-05-05 01:59:12

Puck Slide is an infinite arcade-style game where you have to power a puck past fields of mud and snow.

If you use the right amount of force, you will propel your puck across the mud and onto the field of snow. You'll get points according to how close you are to the flag (as well as occasional positive reinforcement, for motivation).
Puck Slide is integrated with Google Play Game Services, which means achievements, leaderboards, and competition.

I made this game as part of Jumpbutton Studio, which has given me a great environment to work in, so thanks to them Smiley

Made with libGDX
17  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: LibGDX and Scene2d - simple menu issue on: 2015-04-16 06:52:14
It's a table, so it'll align to rows and columns. If you want it centered, try colspan() to make a cell extend horizontally.

WIP is for actual games/projects, moved to misc Smiley
20  Games Center / Showcase / Re: Radius on: 2015-02-02 06:16:19
I actually just found this forum looking for the best way to loop a background in LibGDX for the new game that I am working on. I saw that it was a really neat community and after reading the rules about posting to the showcase section, thought that I would post my work.

Didn't mean any harm by it.

I offer this as restitution for my grievous offence

You're fine, it's just that there are a lot of people that make an account, post here once, and never come back. It doesn't irk me personally, but apparently some people don't like it - I assure you not everyone is that prejudicial, though.
21  Game Development / Articles & tutorials / Re: Java 2D Game Programming Tutorial For Beginners! on: 2015-01-25 19:57:29
This board is intended for tutorials, not links to them.
22  Discussions / General Discussions / Re: How do you feel about selling out? on: 2015-01-16 05:48:31
Without these lazy & ignorant consumers, the Minecraft IP would be nowhere near as valuable to Microsoft's milking department.

If you're going to revive old threads, you should probably improve your post quality Pointing
23  Discussions / Miscellaneous Topics / Re: What I did today on: 2015-01-10 17:19:36
My game has a new ninja now!
Isn't that the ninja from Mini Ninjas?
24  Games Center / Cube World Projects / Re: Voxel Engine written in Kotlin + libGDX on: 2015-01-10 17:17:32
Moved Smiley
25  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: Mouse coordinates all crazy? [Libgdx] on: 2015-01-07 02:10:41
even with only getting the input the mouse coordinates are crazy
Hard to help you when this is all the information you give. What's wrong with the mouse coordinates; what is your code doing and what is the desired output? If you want the player to follow mouse position you'll most likely have to unproject the mouse coordinates.
26  Game Development / Articles & tutorials / Re: AdMob tutorial for LibGDX Android prrojects on: 2015-01-06 23:37:00
This board is for actual tutorials, not links.
27  Discussions / Miscellaneous Topics / Re: What I did today on: 2015-01-06 04:18:36
Well I believe it was done to encourage game development. Not "game engine" development. The WIP was riddled with these tools instead of games. There's a huge discussion here:
Note, if you have any comments on this topic please post in that thread and not this one.

@SHC Don't know how you missed it
29  Java Game APIs & Engines / OpenGL Development / Re: lwjgl + sprite sheet on: 2015-01-06 04:16:43
In the future (generally) don't delete your post, just leave it here with the solution so maybe others with the same problem can find this post.
30  Discussions / General Discussions / Re: New rules regarding Game Engine topics on: 2015-01-06 00:49:25
Forum should not be devblog for something that is never going to end up anywhere.

Then I must have mistaken the forum's purpose, and should probably go delete my WIP thread. I kind of feel embarrassed posting updates if the forum was meant for professional games that are going to "end up somewhere."
Remember that this thread is about game engines. Making multiple small WIP games is the path to successfully making bigger projects, but it's often different for game engines/libraries.
