1  Java Game APIs & Engines / JInput / Re: JInput 2 beta on: 2006-03-28 17:36:59
Nevermind, I see the rumble stuff doesn't work like it did before.

Is the source code for this version of jinput:
http://www.newdawnsoftware.com/resources/jinput/?C=M;O=D
available anywhere?
All the files there appear to only have the binaries.
2  Java Game APIs & Engines / JInput / Re: JInput introduction on: 2006-03-28 17:23:08
I can build the oddlabs version fine, but when I test it with my own code (which worked earlier with this version of jinput: http://www.newdawnsoftware.com/resources/jinput/?C=M;O=D)
it is not finding a force feedback steering wheel I have connected.  I have the latest version of the sources with the raw plugin commented out.  I tried various combinations with dxinput.jar and the other dlls in the same folder or a "controller" folder.  I tried various values for -Djinput.plugins.
It recognizes the directx plugin, but only lists the mouse and keyboard.  It says "Failed to create rumblers: Failed to create effect (Ox80070057)".

I was just wondering where are the right places to put all the jar files and dll files, if that is the problem.   Thanks for any help.

4  Java Game APIs & Engines / JInput / Re: question about g++ errors when compiling on: 2006-03-28 14:50:13
There is a jutils error, it tries to load
net/java/games/input/DirectInputEnvironmentPlugin
It should have replaced the slashes with periods (.).
I guess that requires fixing jutils.

I guess it was a change with switch statements between gcc 2 and gcc 3.  I have it compiling now.
I see this other version does the directx stuff completely differently, so I'll try that too.

I downgraded and got the same error.
I'm interested in adding a spring force feedback effect to input.cpp  (DICONDITION instead of DICONSTANT).

What version of mingw and g++ are people using?
I have mingw 5.0.2 and g++ 3.4.2
8  Java Game APIs & Engines / JInput / question about g++ errors when compiling on: 2006-03-24 01:03:42
Sorry for the dumb question, but I'm trying to compile jinput from cvs, in case I need to add some things for my own app.
I 'm getting errors with a couple of the switch-case statements in the directx plugin input.cpp file, and wasn't sure if I needed to change something with my g++ or what.  I installed mingw 5.0.2 on windows xp, and I'm using the latest directx sdk (feb 2006).

Also I didn't know if you would want to include jutils.jar in the cvs repository or not since jinput depends on it.

Great work on jinput though!
