7  Java Game APIs & Engines / Xith3D Forums / Re: Which IDE do you use? on: 2007-01-08 06:02:23
haha... so are you one yourself?  Tongue

but to be frank... any IDE is good... it just depends on the user preferences. Of course having a good UI as an appeal is important...

and everyone has different taste for a good UI.

So what can I say... Cheesy
8  Discussions / Miscellaneous Topics / A small JS Problem on: 2007-01-08 05:56:30
Hi all, I would like to ask a small problem...

How do get a window to detect it is a pop-window and change the parent window's URL? and after of which close the pop-window.

So is like on the parent Window(IE) I have selected a link to make the pop-window, then after it will process some data, but how I do change the URL of the parent Window using JS on the pop-window and the close the window? do I like type in this.close(URL)?

16  Java Game APIs & Engines / Xith3D Forums / Re: Quality Code on: 2006-11-16 07:52:56
Readability is very subjective and never really worth it to debate/enforce it beyond "good enough".

I agree  Grin
17  Java Game APIs & Engines / Xith3D Forums / Re: Which IDE do you use? on: 2006-11-15 01:30:42
If I am not wrong... they have this tool in Eclipse as well right... just that the process is abit longer...

@ENC and blah
Please stop influencing a (maybe) fundamental discussion about a project you've never worked on and with which's code you've never been confronted. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I may not have work on it, but I am learning  Grin

Wow Shocked. Then just write everything into one long line Wink

It is clear, that blank lines, separating logical blocks, improve visibility. And separating the method signature from the body by one line also does, never mind if there is an opening brace in it or not. Many people put a blank line after the signature, so why not use this to put the brace there and further improve visibility Huh

Well acutally you can save the different code styles in Eclipse.. and once you are done typing your code, you can just use eclipse Auto-Style key to make it in the style you want... ^^

Thank goodness that all of this is over...  Grin
20  Discussions / General Discussions / Re: A little something for Halloween on: 2006-11-10 01:53:02
haha... but do you think you can do one with Santa? haha... i would really want it.. unless you can release the source code .. haha
21  Java Game APIs & Engines / Xith3D Forums / Re: One common code style on: 2006-11-10 01:02:53
Ok... I really had enough of this arguments.  All of you are like going in circles?  Lips Sealed

People who may not be contributing to Xith can always learn and then contribute to it. Stating that only those who are contributing should have the final say is stupid.   Cry

Personally, I think this topic is really getting personal. Just think if this topic is brought up in the Newless Clubiess Section. It will be utter chaos.

22  Java Game APIs & Engines / Xith3D Forums / Re: One common code style on: 2006-11-09 09:54:42
hey that's a great idea! Marvin why dont you start the poll since you are the one who started all these "arguments"  Tongue

heys.. suggestions right?
23  Java Game APIs & Engines / Xith3D Forums / Re: One common code style on: 2006-11-09 03:37:50

Esp the first timers in this forum...  Grin
24  Java Game APIs & Engines / Xith3D Forums / Re: One common code style on: 2006-11-09 00:52:56
Well.. if you ask me... just use the default java code style in this forum...

many companies have different code styles it really depends...

so does not settle the argument? haha... Tongue
25  Java Game APIs & Engines / Xith3D Forums / Re: Which IDE do you use? on: 2006-11-09 00:46:05

26  Discussions / General Discussions / Re: Episode 3 on: 2006-11-08 03:30:30
I am not good with a video shooting but, these are may 2 cents  Grin

1. Name of the person

You only need to show the name of the person just once unless another person name is shown. Example: Mark then John.

Not very good if it is Mark, then the same Mark again. (Hope you get it  Wink)

2. Lights Rule

Once the lights are on, you can just speak, it does not matter if the camara has zoom on to you, if the camara does not focus on you, then it is not your fault, cause the cues are either not clear, or everything and everyone is still fresh...

I am not trying to be mean or dumb.. but these are just suggesstion... hey public shows have to be done professionally right?  Tongue
27  Java Game APIs & Engines / Xith3D Forums / Re: Which IDE do you use? on: 2006-11-06 02:29:30
haha... I think first time programmers who are used to eclipse will die if they have to use command line Tongue

29  Games Center / Featured Games / Re: Beetle Mania! on: 2006-11-06 02:24:13
haha... maybe you can put fake names with fake scores... and see if you can hit those standards... that will be a good bench mark
