1  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: ArrayList , and HashMap on: 2012-04-12 01:16:24
Thanks! Wished I had asked a lot sooner, spent a few hours figuring this out.
2  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / ArrayList , and HashMap on: 2012-04-12 01:02:17
I am having this problem that has got me stumped. I have a HashMap holding a map of a list, I then copy the list and put it into an ArrayList variable. However whenever I edit the ArrayList variable the map of the list is also being edited in the HashMap. If someone could help explain this, and how to prevent it from occurring, it would be greatly appreciated!

3  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: Object returning it's Class on: 2012-03-11 02:48:38
Thanks guys! Appreciate the quick help!
4  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Object returning it's Class on: 2012-03-11 01:17:31
Is it possible to have the Object return it's Class name? I'm trying to use the .Class name as a key for a hash map and have it store every object under that Class.
I tried Casting the object to Class, but unfortunately that returned an error. Any help would be appreciated!

@ra4king
Ok, I think it might be the website that is causing the freezing and lag. So here is the .jar file: http://www.mediafire.com/?za9s4672dm169d6

@ra4king
You can try to lower the graphics in the setting to try to reduce lag. I am not sure what's causing the lag in lower end computers, but I will try to fix it. You eject orbs so that you can change the colour of them to the same as the enemy units. When you collide with the enemy and the colours are the same, you will not lose any orbs. Anything that has a size of 25 will grow, but it is always yellow.

Its fun! I found level 3 the most challenging, but this is a good game. One suggestion would be just a Reset button, or maybe make it so that you don't return to the menu every time you fall into the pit. Otherwise I would love to see more levels!

ORBS
Hello JGO, I am new to the forums and I am also a fairly new java programmer. I learnt it this year actually any how, for my final project at school I made a game with Greenfoot called Orbs. Orbs is a mixture between an arcade game and a strategy game, try to survive as long as you can to gain the highest score. Even though my project is submitted for marking I would like to continue improving it and making it the best it can be. In the future I would like to incorporate a Co-Op mode into this game, but for now it would be greatly appreciated if you took some time to test it out and tell me what you would like to see changed and/or improved! P.S. had some help from my friends with the high score server code, and graphics.

Thanks!

-EDIT: HIGHSCORES ARE NOW OFFLINE
