Hi All, my first time posting.
I’m having a problem getting the image to fade smoothly while in full screen mode.
It works okay when in windowed mode.
I’m using the alpha composite to gradually fade in the screen. I have checked this forum for suggestions but most if not all of the result in the same problem, it runs like a asthmatic slug!
I tried the transacel flag, upgraded to 1.5 and updated the resolution of my timer, tried different bit depths, update the pixels colours individually.
The screen res is 800x600 and the image format is png (I also tried gif and jpeg)
I was just about to give up all hope and live with it, until I played Gravity Battle 2. The screen transitions on this game are smooth and give the game that little extra character.
I have attached some code. (didnt want to make the post too long)
I’m just using a basic framework I created as a 2d engine. I wanted to start from scratch so I had a good understanding of game development before moving onto the other api’s.
Any help would be appreciated.
