4  Games Center / Showcase / Re: LF1 - simple 2D racing game on: 2020-02-20 14:37:33
@Mr. Gol, it's really good to know, thanks ! It's really hard that a user will download and run the jar's directly, so being able to make java written games available directly in the browser is really awesome Smiley
5  Games Center / Showcase / PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) 2D Game on: 2020-02-18 03:40:16
Hello everyone !

No big deal, but here is my first "original" 2D game: PWM (Pulse Width Modulation)

Basically, the goal is to press or release the space key to generate square wave pulses (in blue) and keep the white small ball on the screen (representing the speaker diaphragm's level) as close as possible to the yellow wave.

The ideia was based on this video https://youtu.be/4SBUrv7fXqI

Implemented in java 8 using just standard libraries (java 2D, Swing, AWT), so no external libraries required.

Keyboard Controls:

[Space] key: move the ball up or down

Thanks Smiley !

@Mr. Gol, very nice game, i just tried it and i think it's very fun Smiley
the only problem is when i press down key to brake, the entire screen turns gray for a short time Sad
i didn't about teaVM, it's really cool !
can you please confirm if it can directly convert java 2D, AWT libraries directly to javascript ?
thanks Smiley
7  Games Center / Showcase / Re: Q*Bert (1982+) remake on: 2020-02-13 23:04:57
hello @JaredBGreat, thanks for trying it !
Indeed, in the nes version, you can 'configure' the keys to define the direction, for instance ['left arrow' + 'down arrow'], which for me is more intuitive, but it's an option that i really didn't have enough patience to implement  Sad

Thanks a lot for the source ! I'll take a look later Smiley

@SugarBlood it's far from an accurate remake, but that's what i managed to do with my current skill ... thanks for playing it  Smiley

@saocrinn thanks ! indeed, i still have a lot of hard time trying to finish even a 'simple' project like this xD
Wow but back in the time, it's awesome to think that these guys already did these things in the 80s (!)
Btw, your remake is awesome !

update 26/jan/2020 19:40: i've just implemented all 1~9 levels (but it still needs to adjust the speed of each level later)

Implemented in java 8 using just standard libraries (java 2D, Swing, AWT), so no external libraries required.

Keyboard Controls:

[Up, Down, Left and Right] keys: move Q*Bert

Thanks Smiley !

This is a preview of my currently work in progress game.

It's TwinBee (1985/86), a MSX 2D shooter game that i'm trying to implement from scratch using only standard java libraries (java 2D, Swing, AWT), so no external libraries required.

Keyboard Controls:

[Z] key: air shot

23  Games Center / Showcase / Roller Ball (1984) 3D [MSX pinball game remake] on: 2018-09-17 15:16:26
Hello everyone !

The implementation of this game is little bit old, but i decided to post here because i think it's the best game i could implement so far.

It's a 3D version of Roller Ball (1984) MSX pinball game implemented from scratch (3D software renderer and 2D physics) using just standard java libraries (java 2D, Swing, AWT), so no external libraries required.

If you decide to play, please leave a message with your score.

Thanks Smiley !

26  Games Center / Showcase / King's Valley (MSX) Game [remake] on: 2018-07-26 03:43:06
Hello everyone !

My name is Leo, i've always followed this forum, i think there are only incredible works here, so this time, i took courage and decided to post my first game here: it's basically a remake of 2D MSX platform game called "King's Valley".

Currently, it has only 3 levels.

It was implemented using just standard java libraries (java 2D, Swing, AWT), so no external libraries required.

Well, that's it. Thanks Smiley
