I was wondering what the best way to learn opengl would be by using LWJGL? i can't seem to find much resources around the internet about it. I would like to make 3D games and have done it using LWJGL and ThinMatrix's tutorials but would like to learn another way.

5  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / 3D dungeon crawler on: 2017-03-19 22:04:12
I'm looking to develop a 3D dungeon crawler, i was wondering how i would implement a map loader using a .txt file. I want the map loader to read the text file and render a wall when it reads "1", and nothing when it reads "0". What would be the best way to go about implementing this feature?

I've tried to use Unity and Unreal engine before and it's always come back to Java.
8  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: LWJGL vs LIBGDX on: 2017-03-15 19:52:00
I'm looking to start out in 2D games, i've made games using the built in Java2D library but was looking for external libraries for my games now. I will then later progress onto 3D games (Which i have experience in, rendering terrains and obj loaders and such). was just wondering what one would be better.

Yeah i know what it's for thanks. I've used lwjgl and done things like an obj loader and messed around with rendering terrain and things like that and also used shaders. Still struggling on what library's and tools to use to make my games.
10  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / LWJGL vs LIBGDX on: 2017-03-15 17:27:16
I'm having trouble deciding what library to use. i've had experience using LWJGL for 3D games but i've heard that Libgdx ia better? could you tell me if this is true and why?
11  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / JMonkeyEngine on: 2017-03-15 08:39:36
What are your thoughts on the JMonkeyEngine and is it worth me getting? Been having a look at it recently but debating on whether i should download it or not.

Thanks for the help, Happy Coding!

15  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Learning LWJGL on: 2017-03-02 15:09:11
I've made some 2D games before using the standard Java Library, and i've recently started learn about OpenGL and using LWJGL  2 to develop some games. I've got the basic concept as i have been following ThinMatrix's LWJGL tutorials and i was wondering if there were any other guides or tutorials to help me along the way? I've gathered the basic concept of 3D games programming but was wondering if there are any other materials or resources out there to help me along the way, Thanks for your help!

Happy Coding!
