As for sprites/ui graphics; I have very little gfx talent so they wont improve much unless I find a decent artist.
The latest and final client revision uses the midtro game engine api, which was written by the previous developer who helped build the current base. I plan on rewriting the client engine in the future to render using lwjgl, but for now it's basically java2d with anti aliasing.
