I started working  a new company and knowing java would have been an advantage so I started learning during lunch break. I have programmed before so it wasn't too difficult.  Grin

You should try to kill it from below with a surface torpedo.
Another strategy would be to surface the sub, but not for too long. The fighter drops the bomb only when you above a certain depth.

Maybe you started with SPACE instead of ENTER? That is an option I used for testing which isn't removed yet.
ENTER starts the game as it should be.
SPACE starts the game at the same level where you died before.  This doesn't work at the first play.

The airplane which drops the bomb should keep you in a certain depth. It should prevent the player from playing at the surface as this is a submarine. Wink

Nice game. I had some problems with the bouncing, too.
I like the features that can be caught, the Earthquake, the "crazy" ball, etc.

English language would be nice. (I'm from Germany so I could get the meaning of most sentences but English would be far better  Wink )

Game runs fine. I had two small problems:
- sometimes the collision detection seems not to work properly. I had to jump twice or more times at some drops to get them.
- I had some problems with the timing of my jumps. I personally would like if the jump would go a bit further. But perharps I'm only a bad player.  Grin

I don't want to have two different buttons for firing torpedos to left/right. I thought about this when designing the controls. My first idea was to have only one button for firing torpedos (depending on the sub movement) like it was in the original Seafox game.

But nevertheless the idea of having some copy of the functionalities at the keybord sounds good. I will think about this.

- I activated a funcitonality I used during development: If you're pressing space at start screen you will start at the previous level. This functionality isn't documented and I'm not sure if I should keep it.  Undecided  (Don't press Space when starting the game for the first time - you will start without amunition  Wink )

A comment to the controls. Each pressing of a cursor key accelerates the sub in the respective direction.
If your sub is swimming to the left with full speed, you have to press the right cursor key multiple to get it stopped or to get it swimming to the other side.

There are two possibilites to get fresh air: Either ascend to the surface (not too long) or get an air tank from a friendly dolphin (not in the 1st level)  Smiley

Hello,

I can't find a solution: I made a little game with Eclipse. Within my workspace I told Eclipse to create two folders src and bin. I manually added two folders pics and sound. Therefore my folder structure is looking like this:

The sound files are loaded as following:

This works fine as long as I'm testing my game in Eclipse. When I create a jar-file from my bin folder I receive a NullPointerException when starting the game from the jar. The NullPointerException happens when my program is trying to load the first sound file.

Is it a problem of my folder structure or should I create the URL a different way?

Has there be some changes or did  I find a bug?

There is a difference depending on cpu speed!  At home at my (very) old pc I only get something around 10 FPS  Cry  - but with the cucumber machinegun I was able to fire 3 - 4 burst until a coconut from my opponent hits me. With my pc at work (around 50 FPS) I only was able to fire 1 burst until the coconut of my opponent hits me.
