Orama Technologies releases Flagship

The United Solar System Alliance is at war with the rebel Alpha Centauri Colony! Seizing the opportunity to capture the leader of the rebels, the Alliance managed to ambush the battleship where he was travelling. The future of the war will be decided in this battle and you can be a part of it! Join the rebels and lead the flagship to safety or command the Alliance forces to victory – it’s up to you!

Flagship is a modern adaptation of Hnefatafl, a strategy-oriented board game played by the Vikings, who saw skill in this game as a valuable attribute. Orama Technologies’ latest title features both an advanced AI and a two players mode in one mobile phone, allowing the player to challenge the computer or a friend for an exciting battle.

“When I played Hnefatafl I knew it was the perfect board game to adapt to cellphones: features simple rules and, above all, it’s something ‘new’ players weren’t expecting.” said Telmo Amaro, lead developer for Flagship. Talking in more detail about the game, he mentioned that “Flagship goes beyond being a simple adaptation of an ancient board game. Rules were changed to provide an easier learning as well as more game balance. The game enviroment of this medieval board game was changed to a futuristic science fiction one, which, in this case, seemed to be a perfect fit.”

Flagship is currently available for purchase at Orama Technologies Games Portal: http://games.oramatechnologies.com – more mobile phones will be supported soon.
