Java Game APIs & Engines / J2ME / Re: MicroFont - A cross platform font tool
|
on: 2004-05-20 11:20:17

I meant if the Font class is generating the fonts itself, that's the fonts are embedded within it in arrays. You points that the fonts are external.. If you release the font renderer class the lgpl license would allow more projects to use it, including mine than gpl. I think gpl for j2me is not really usefull.

Java Game APIs & Engines / J2ME / Re: JTGL a graphic/gaming library new release

I agree with you but there are a lot of capable phones and pdas already there, and it's handy to have a common code even for coding bottom up! At least there are some basic ideas you could share among the same code in a 2d game: init, main game loop, tiledmap, sprites. My library provides a full environment, but you can (may be you do not, but beginners do) take ideas/code from mine and use as you please. Indeed the license is lgpl, so you can develop a comercial appl with it! (In theory) Cheers!

Java Game APIs & Engines / J2ME / Anouncing MParser: a micro xml parser
|
on: 2004-04-30 14:42:44
|
Hi! Althought I've have it finished (stable v0.9) since half year ago, I've decided to publish it. MParser is a very small sax based xml parser suitable for j2me, I wonder if someone here may be using another xml parser (nano,kxml..) and would like to test a very tiny (the tiniest maybe!) library. You can find it at http://mrmx.org/mparserGreetings! Manuel

Java Game APIs & Engines / J2ME / Re: New OpenSourced Tiny Java Graphics Library (ME

Well i test it with another T610 and no problems at all. After all is a first beta release so you don´t spect to much in demos, just understand the code and idea behind this proyect. BTW in a couple of days i will release the next pack, with more meat and a "micro" development tree, optimized for size and targets (MIDP mainly) so library is cut down to half size while preserving main core and util packages around. I'd like to hear from users like you.. what you need from a graphic/gaming library.. CHeers!

Java Game APIs & Engines / J2ME / New OpenSourced Tiny Java Graphics Library (ME,SE

Hi to All! I'm developing since a couple of months a Java Tiny Gfx Library (JTGL). It is a graphic foundation framework to provide a common view of a graphics/gaming subsystem over already deployed public java apis such as AWT/Java2D/J2ME/MIDPv1&v2 and propietary mobile: ExEn, DoJa,Nokia,Siemens,Motorola,etc.. he library is (or will focus on) a thin glue/wrapper over a known api (eg: awt/midp), to merge in its own graphics api (eg: thereis a JTGLGraphics class) where all core classes provides a basic platform agnostic launching code that provides: - Graphics: primitives, color, image - A lighweight extension framework (eg: media, devices, etc) - An input framework (eg: mouse, keyboard) - Specific implementations ready for AWT,MIDP (Siemens,Nokia, etc.) and of course expandable by extending the core platform. - An initial Gaming API (Surfaces,TiledMaps,Sprites) There is a lot to do, so developers and artists are much appreciated to join in. It is licensed under the GNU General Public License and hosted on SourceForge.net. Download it from http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/jtgl/JTGL_v0.5b.zip?download Thanks in advance!
