5  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / (Solved) [Box2d][Libgdx] How to detect 2 bodies in contactListener? on: 2014-03-22 14:56:50
Hello guys!

So i have been trying to find some answers for my question but i failed to find one so i thought it will be a good idea to ask it here.

1
2
3
4
5
if (contact.getFixtureA().getBody().getUserData() == "G" && contact.getFixtureB().getBody().getUserData() =="B"){

         System.out.print("Landed");

      }

So the "G" stand for the "Ground" and the "B" stand for the "Ball" and when the ball collides with the ground it should say "Landed" but it does not do it can anyone please tell me what is my mistake?

12  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: Is there an offline libGDX documentation? on: 2014-02-18 03:51:13
My opinion about video tutorials is that they are good, but not good enough for some concepts. I'd say don't stop developing games, but at least read Java tutorials from Oracle once (http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/). It will be worth your time.

Thank you for this website i will read some topics later on Smiley

This is also an good website for some libGDX tutorials.

Thank you guys for all your reply's i really appreciate it Smiley

My java basic knowledge is really good i have followed TheNewBoston tutorials and TheChernoProject ^_^ and by the way when i have chosen 1 month or less i meant for libGDX not java Grin

14  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: Is there an offline libGDX documentation? on: 2014-02-16 14:59:44
It should be included in the latest nightly build. All you should need to do is set up LibGDX in your IDE.
Going by your coding experience, I highly recommend getting more experience with Java before trying to use a game engine. LibGDX is quite difficult and confusing to use for a beginner.

I have some information on java i have been using jMonkeyEngine before Smiley and some java2d i think this is a bit enough for me.

16  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Is there an offline libGDX documentation? on: 2014-02-16 07:44:29
hey guys !

Is there an offline libGDX documentation that i can open it directly from the IDE?
17  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: [libGDX] ((Game) Gdx.app.getApplicationListener()) error on: 2014-02-14 19:34:39

This is a common problem I have when doing this and it is purely down to imports, just type the entire thing, hover over "Game" and import that, then import your screen. Problem solved.

Thank you for helping me the problem is solved Smiley
18  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: [libGDX] ((Game) Gdx.app.getApplicationListener()) error on: 2014-02-14 13:15:54
A stacktrace would be nice, but currently the line
1
((Game) Gdx.app.getApplicationListener())

does currently nothing.

I know that but it just gives me error from here even if i made it to ((Game) Gdx.app.getApplicationListener()).setScreen(new var); it would also be an error.
19  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / [Solved]-[libGDX] ((Game) Gdx.app.getApplicationListener()) error on: 2014-02-14 13:07:56
Hey guys !!

i am following dermetfan tutorials in youtube so i saw this tutorial which is the fifth tutorial and i had this problem and don't know what to do it just says that it's an wrong syntax
