1  Java Game APIs & Engines / JOGL Development / Re: Problems installing Jogl on Mac OSX on: 2005-01-28 19:40:08
My bad- oh well, if the OP had the same buggy version I did, then at least he can continue to dev...

Time for me to update my machine I suppose is the moral of the story!

The native libs don't actually belong there anymore from what I can tell (or at least they didn't work for me when I put them there!).

You can put the jars there if you like (of course, you can put them where ever you like as long as the dir is in your java.library.path) but the native libs now have to go here:
(please excuse this, its from memory and my mac is at home)
/System/Library/Frameworks/Java.VM.Framework/Versions/1.4.2/bin

OK - if that isn't correct, let me know and I'll get the correct path when I get home.  I actually just figured this out last night.  I think some of the confusion is that natives used to go in ' /Library/Java/Extensions' but now that directory is only good for jar files.  Certainly on my 10.3.6 machine with 1.4.2 I have to put them in the Framework path.  I swear I tried every other possible place before trying that Wink

Let me know if you run into problems - I have it all nicely set up in Eclipse in OS X at home, so I should be able to help you out.
3  Java Game APIs & Engines / JOGL Development / Re: BSOD when Animator.stop() on: 2005-01-27 20:38:08
Hey!  Someone with the same problem as me Smiley

Win XP MCE, 6800GT, same drivers.
Computer reboots when I call animator.stop

Totally must be a driver issue.

This may be completely unrelated to your problem, but my XP box reboots when I call animator.stop!

Also using NVidia.  I suppose my point is that I think NVidia's drivers are not playing nice with jogl at the moment.  On any of the machines in my house with ATI cards, all is well.

...so for the moment, I just do all my dev on my mac or my bsd box (both have ati cards), and if I have to run it on my PC, I just don't call animator.stop Wink

5  Java Game APIs & Engines / JOGL Development / Re: Trying to get started with the demos... on: 2005-01-06 02:21:39
Thanks - installing the SDK from NVidia solved my dll issues - now I'm back to having the computer reboot when I close it  Wink

I agree its probably the drivers.  These demos are the only thing that I can trigger the problem with, but it sure doesn't sound like this is a common problem - so it must just be me.  I can probably figure it out from here...

Thanks for the help!

6  Java Game APIs & Engines / JOGL Development / Trying to get started with the demos... on: 2005-01-05 05:03:04
I'm trying to get started with the demos (https://jogl-demos.dev.java.net/) and I'm running into some problems.  First, when I run the demos using javaws.exe from the demos page, they work correctly and can be used, but when I close the applicated, 100% of the time, it reboots my computer (Win XP Pro sp 2).  I then tried to compile and run the demos from inside of eclipse so I could try to catch what was going wrong, and I can get it to compile, but when I start it, it tells me that I don't have gl.dll (not jogl.dll, that is installed and is found).  I searched my drive for this file, and found a copy in my FarCry directory, so I put that and cg.dll in the path and then I would get:
"The procedure entry point cgGLUnbindProgram could not be located in the dynamic link library cgGL.dll."

Where do I get updated copies of these DLLs to use with JOGL?  I have googled it and very little is mentioned about these DLLs.  I have the feeling they should be installed with my video card drivers, but I have the most recent NVidia drivers available.

Java 1.5.0, NVidia driver 66.93 on a 6800GT.

Thanks!
Jason
7  Java Game APIs & Engines / Java 3D / Re: Trying to get started... on: 2005-01-03 20:14:01
Oh sorry - I thought this was the correct forum for JOGL - I am trying to run the demos here:
https://jogl-demos.dev.java.net/

I realize there is a 'Java3D' specifially, but I thought the forum name 'Java 3D' just meant it was for general 3D programming in Java.  The description is just "3D graphics programming in Java", so I thought this was the place to be.  I'll repost this in the specific forum to JOGL.
