I Made a game using libGDX and java.  I put it on the android market for free. I'd feel terrible taking money for this game.   This is more of a learning experience for me than anything.  I need to update it's textures and work on the font among a myriad of other things.   I plan to add other obstacles / features as I get inspiration or free time.

You can download it from the play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pj.android

I would like to know the solution to this to.  I Don't know how to pack the resources into the jar file and I'm guessing that is the problem.

This game looks pretty cool!  I'd be happy to be a tester if you need one.   Grin

Is there a way that I can repeat the tile infinitely? Draw them as needed?  Or do i just need to set the "N" to be a large number that my player won't reach?

My game is basically going to the right as far as you can before you die

Thank you for all your help.

Do I have to do anything different in the render method?

Texture background;
background = new Texture("data/background.png");
background.setWrap(TextureWrap.Repeat, TextureWrap.Repeat);

render(){
Gdx.gl.glClearColor(0, 0, 0, 1);
Gdx.gl.glClear(GL20.GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT);

world.update();

batch.begin();
batch.draw(background,0,0);
batch.end();
}

Is this right?  It doesn't seem like I'm telling it to rendering the texture more than once.
8  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Repeating Background (libgdx) (Solved) on: 2013-06-11 05:39:34
I'm trying to make a repeating background.  I guess you are supposed to use texture.setWrap... or something but I can't seem to find good documentation on how it works.  If someone could point me to some documentation on how to repeat a texture and render it, or give me some pseudo code, I would be grateful.
9  Games Center / WIP games, tools & toy projects / Re: Chromalusus on: 2013-06-09 14:46:39

Thanks for reminding me. I need to put in restart and back to menu buttons. Just press 'p' to restart the game and 'esc' to go back to menu.

Now onto the controls. What exactly are you confused about? Is it the actual keys or the way that you mix colors?

I'm confused on how to select the colors.
10  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Exporting project into a runnable jar file (libgdx) on: 2013-06-09 14:13:23
So I have my game and it compiles and runs fine, however i cant seem to export it into a runnable jar file?  I think eclipse isn't packing the resources automatically.   How do I get a runnable jar file?  I can get it to run if I have all the folders beside the jar file.   Is there a way to put the folders inside the runnable jar file?  (to make it easier to distribute)

thank you.

Is there a losing screen or menu that is supposed to pop up or do I have to restart the app?
Also i can't quite seem to figure out the controls..

Lol.   It's no where near done, however if you do find some bugs I would love to know what you find.

14  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: Android lag Plus How i made it run ! on: 2013-05-26 01:47:19
If you are running on an emulator it will lag and there isn't much you can do about it.    you really need to test it on an android device.
15  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: Best way to add Buttons in libgdx. on: 2013-05-25 23:54:01
Those are all good for creating menus.  I'm making a tower defense game and on the side i'd like to add buttons for selecting tower types, pausing the game, or quitting and returning to the main menu. How would you recommend I do that? I don't really want to bring up a menu or another screen for that.
16  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Best way to add Buttons in libgdx. on: 2013-05-24 23:18:34
I'm trying to learn libgdx, (so far I like it).

What would be the best way to add buttons to a game.

I kind of know how to add buttons to a Screen, but when i try to  do that I can no longer play my game.   the buttons take over and i cant click anything else. Am I doing it wrong?

Is the best way to just draw a sprite then detect when i click on that sprite? or is there a better way to add buttons?

I'd like some Ideas or a link to a tutorial.  Thanks.
17  Games Center / WIP games, tools & toy projects / Re: RUSD Tower Defense (wip) on: 2013-05-19 22:17:31
While it might not be necessary to use lwjgl I want to learn it because I plan on making a more complicated game after I finish my tower defense.
18  Games Center / WIP games, tools & toy projects / RUSD Tower Defense (wip) on: 2013-05-15 14:30:58
I'm working on a java tower defense game.   I am nowhere near done.  I would like for other people to try it out as well as give advice to help me make a better game.  I'll be updating my blog whenever I release a newer version.  I'm pretty excited about this game even if it isn't much.

The download link is in the blog.

Edit: After reading some post on this site i decided im going to switch to using LWJGL.  So it might be a bit before my next update depending on how fast i can learn it.
