It reminds me a bit of what Runescape used to be back in the day. These screenshots sure create feelings of nostalgia!

The art is looking good: I really love the sort of jagged look to it.

I have a question for you. Are all types of entities scaled to the same "pixel scale"? That is, are the size per pixel the same for all types of creatures or is it different depending on some size that you have pre-programmed in?

It appears some really interesting updates have come around since I last checked in on the little project of yours! I especially like the whole "traps!" thing.

I realize I haven't really introduced myself yet, even though I've been a member on the forum for the past two years.

I've had a huge chunk of inactivity on the forum (.03 posts a day. Don't I deserve some appreciation just for that? It's one high score, that is). I've never been too much of a community person, but as of late I've realized that communities can be quite fun! Being able to share what you are doing at the same time as seeing what others are doing is really nice. Being given the chance to learn from what other people are doing and, sort of... "Borrow"... Certain elements into your own work. Even though I haven't been posting in too many threads yet, I've already had a great ton of fun!

Here are some questions for you people who have been on the forum for some time:
- Do you (we) have something you call youselves? (Like JGO:ers, J-draGOn:ers, etc.)
- Are there any certain guidelines I should follow when replying to threads (other than the rules)? Is it for example considered normal replying to somewhat old threads?
- How often do you drink whiskey?

Other than that, I'm a very regular person, living a very regular life. I'm looking forward to getting more involved into whatever ways you folks spend your days Smiley

Edit: thought I might add... It's one in the morning. I've got absolutely no idea why I thought it was a clever idea to post a thread at this very moment. Now I'll be staying up all night hoping for someone to respond! Stare

The future Ranger specialization (yes... there will be class specializations at level 12), will be able to control animals as pets, train them and level them up.

I'm loving that you already have big portions of the future for the game planned out!

The Wizard will have a Summoning school, so he'll be able to summon a variety of creatures as pets. Maybe the cleric will, as well.

Really looking forward to wizards. Playing as a wizard is, in my opinion, a great way of pretending that you're actually intelligent!

When I talk about this stuff, I realize how much I still have to do Sad

It's not that bad... I mean... It's a lot of stuff... But... Uh... Oh, well... Best of luck!

Could you by any chance add a permadeath mode? I personally like it when you lose your character upon death. It makes you play more careful and makes it feel like you're really accomplishing something when you progress far into the game Wink

Is there a backstory as to how the "dungeon-smell-like-roses-tales-of-old" guy's friend who entered the dungeon and disappeared died? Considering there's a huge pile of rubble blocking the entrance to the room where he died... Is it possible he went in, the rubble came down blocking the path behind him, giving the two skeletons and zombies a great amount of time to brutally murder and destroy him?

Edit: What I'm asking then is: are there backstories to that kind of events that have already taken place in the world?

I play as a rogue sneaking around taking people out one by one from behind.

It does indeed take a while to level up, but IMHO that's a good thing. It's much more rewarding leveling up if you've actually had to work for it!

As for getting through the mine, I would recommend searching for someone that sells you better equipment. It gets a whole lot easier getting through the mine with better equipment!

Thought I'd share my thoughts about the game, here on JGO, from what I've experienced so far!

It's a brilliant game and it feels just the way you'd want it to feel. The controls and buttons are easy to use and placed out conveniently on the screen.

The game isn't too easy, nor is it too difficult (as long as you play it somewhat safe). The fighting mechanics work well. The conversations with the NPCs are hilarious and the questing is fun!

Keep up the good work! It's already a great game and it can only get better Cheesy

Edit: I noticed a minor bug, which I should probably report on your forum. Bah... Due to laziness I'll report it here Cheesy If you already have somebody hired to be in your party, when you talk to the seed salesman for the quest, he too can follow you creating a party of three. If however, you first speak to the seed salesman for the quest and get him following you, you are unable to hire somebody else. Oh, well... Still a great game!

Really cool little game! Nice and smooth, fully functional movement and a whole lot of fun!

I noticed a bug, however. When I tried loading up a ship I had created the game crashed Sad

Oh, well... Keep up the great work! It's looking real good so far Cool

Edit: Something worth adding is preview images of the ships in the "load ships" screen!

Oh, well... Thought I'd report two bugs, anyway!

The title screen's right and bottom sides flickers for me. Not sure if you, MrPork, experienced the same thing considering you too seem to be on a Windows. Also, the particle effect for when you press your mouse cursor are offset by a bit (only in the title screen).

A random outlined circle seems to have magically appeared in the ground after killing a slime.

Other than that, I think the game is looking pretty cool. Smiley I've got to say however that the rain gets quite annoying whilst fighting due to the knockback. When you knock back the enemies it feels as though they're knocking you back and vice versa.

Other than that I agree with that the game seems like a cool little game that you should (totally!) port to Android and make it a match-based game! Cool

This is the game I've been working on recently! The trees will be redrawn due to people getting quite upset that they look a bit like the terrarian ones. :-)

It's going to be an RPG styled game where you and other players walk around and kill each other for money. When getting money you'll be able to buy 'width-area'. Areas not owned by anyone is free to dig on. There will be some valuable minerals under ground. The world will be infinite. Oh! Did I mention? It's multiplayer. :-)

There will also be singleplayer version and the game will be ported to Android when it's done!

I'm concidering adding skills to the game that you can level up. We'll see about that.
