1  Discussions / Jobs and Resumes / Major Games Developer / Publisher in London... on: 2005-01-11 07:45:41
... Looking for 2 programers to come on board. This is a major Japanese owned company looking to expand their European development team. You will be responsible for porting Japanese handheld titles for the European market and also the devleopment of new IP.

There are two roles available - one for a programmer with commercial mobile games programming experience (good J2me, Brew Symbian) and the other suitable for someone with good programming skills (and the demos to prove it) who is looking to break into the games industry for the first time.

Recruitment for these roles is being handled by Aardvark Swift - a specialist games industry recruitment agency.

If you are interested in more details get in touch by emailing pete@aswift.com. Appriopriate applicants will be shortlisted w/c 10th Jan 2005 and interviews will be held from 24th Jan onwards.

3  Discussions / Jobs and Resumes / Mobile Phone Game Programmer Cambridge on: 2004-07-21 06:16:35
I am recruiting for one of the UKs leading developers / publisher of mobile phone games

You will be responsible for development, porting and localization of a number of game titles across a range of genres. Ideally, you will have proven J2ME skills, probably for at least a year in a commercial environment, although they are also interested in hearing from those new to the field who can demonstrate they have the knowledge and skills to hit the ground running.

Initially, the focus will be on porting and localization, and the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring existing code can run on a variety of handsets. This will include legacy handsets as well as new handsets  (sometimes prototypes) where you will be expected to take a lead in investigating and reporting back on issues and quirks found during the porting process.

If this sounds interesting drop me a line back in confidence for a full job spec.

I am currently recruiting for the mobile phone division of a major Japanese game developer / publisher. They are looking to expand their European operations and are after a programmer with strong J2ME skills.

Initially the work will involve helping port and convert titles for the European market from Japan, but as team is expanded there will be the chance of original work as well.

Full job spec is available on request - PM me in confidence for more details.

Salary bracket is up to £30k + beneifts (plus the advantage of working for one of the oldest / most respected games companies out there).
