I think that Endolf has just deleted the posts, making my post seem rather cryptic...

Cas Smiley

Yup, maybe I shouldn't have removed it, just replaced the text, ah well, live and learn.

Hmm, where did the report spam button go?

Cas Smiley

No idea, but I've just squished the post Smiley

I've used getdown in the past, it's not perfect, but it does save me writing my own. It seems to work quite well for the little I've done with it.

Hi

Sorry for the delay.

Just been looking at applying your patch. All looks fine, you even fixed a bug for us Smiley

Should be in tonights build.

Thanks

Awesome.

Thank you for the patch, I'll take a look at putting this in this today some time.

Hi

I've regenerated the natives file, see if that helps, or makes it worse Smiley

I'll take a look later, as long as it's a quick fix I should be able to get a new build out tonight.

9  Java Game APIs & Engines / JInput / Re: Question about controller environments on: 2013-02-05 19:38:55
I'm confused. I'm currently off sick and my mind isn't working as well as even it normally does.

I'll try and take a look tomorrow, if it comes to it, I'll add some more debug and do a build for you.

Endolf
10  Java Game APIs & Engines / JInput / Re: Question about controller environments on: 2013-02-05 18:54:53
It's confusing, but I'm sure there is a reason.

What version of windows are you using?, 32 or 64 bit?, what jdk?

What is the output of controller text test?

Endolf
11  Java Game APIs & Engines / JInput / Re: Question about controller environments on: 2013-02-05 17:53:45
On windows DirectxAndRaw is the default. You can set a system property to change which plugin is being used so you don't have to change any code.

12  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: How to call my jar and jinput with a "script" on: 2013-01-14 12:44:35
That message means that you have JInput jar on the classpath and are trying to use it, but don't have the libjinput.so in the native library path.

13  Java Game APIs & Engines / JInput / Re: Get raw input values on: 2012-11-27 12:40:29
When you check the properties of that axis, does it report that it is normalised in jinput?
14  Java Game APIs & Engines / JInput / Re: Get raw input values on: 2012-11-27 12:20:00
multiply it by 512 and your values will look just like the ones from the dx tool, it probably does the same thing inside it's ui.

15  Java Game APIs & Engines / JInput / Re: Get raw input values on: 2012-11-27 11:59:37
They are UIs over the top of the OS, what values does the driver return?

Endolf
16  Java Game APIs & Engines / JInput / Re: Get raw input values on: 2012-11-27 10:43:41
JInput doesn't modify the values, it just passes on the values that the OS presents it.

17  Discussions / General Discussions / Re: Plan out or Dive In? on: 2012-10-24 08:09:25
I think it depends on what you want to achieve. If you are doing this because you want to sell a game, plan it, you have to, otherwise you will end up with feature creep at the very least. If you are trying to learn something, just dive in.

I'm doing java games for fun (which to me means learning stuff) so I just dive in to the bit that I want to learn.

18  Discussions / General Discussions / Re: LWJGL,Slick,AWT,J3D Which is the best??? on: 2012-10-22 07:36:54
I've not done any 2D stuff for ages, so I'll let others advise on that. For 3D, unless you want to learn about 3D engine design, ignore LWJGL, jogl and libgdx. These are all lower level that is useful for getting stuff done. You should be looking at Ardor3D or JMonkeyEngine, JMonkeyEngine provides more of the game engine as well as 3D, I've not used it for a number of years so can't comment on those extra features, the designer etc is also based on netbeans. Ardor3D has a nicer API (my personal opinion, it's subjective, so each to their own).

Aaah, thanks. Google wouldn't translate the page so I hadn't figured that out Smiley

I now get
1
Main.initDisplay : org.lwjgl.LWJGLException: Could not create context (WGL_ARB_create_context)
when I try to run the jar. 64bit windows 7, geforce 330M.

It was an error whilst trying to download, didn't get as far as running anything. I'll try again later when I'm home, the work proxy blocks the site anyway.

Just tried to download it, but I just get some error page in french.

22  Java Game APIs & Engines / JInput / Re: Online Chapter on using Multiple Mice on: 2012-08-29 10:49:11
Looks good.

Did you consider looking at the Event based API in JInput rather than the old one?, you still need to poll, but now you get a list of the changes since the last poll, means you don't have to store the 'old' values to compare too.

The javadoc hasn't been updated since 2007 because, although implementations have been added and changed, the API itself has not.

Cool

Thanks for this, I wondered how to get whispy effects for gas clouds in darkvoid as well as the plain gas clouds already in there. Now I can play and see how the values effect things quickly, might have to have a play with the background generation again Smiley

Cheers

It's now slowed down on my work machine too, no idea what triggered it, but it does only appear to be when changing tabs.

25  Discussions / Miscellaneous Topics / Re: Eclipse Juno on: 2012-08-22 11:11:31
Our crappy old XP machines at work seem to be coping fine with 4.2, if anything, it seems a little faster to me, but that might be to do with how many plugins I have installed and the fact that my workspace has less open projects so far.

It's 'nebulae' (plural)
 Tongue

Whatever, the question still stands Smiley

Are the 'nebula' generated too?

Yup, saw those, hence the comment about *this* thread being a valid question. I agree that the others should be deleted or locked, but this one is a valid question and should have been treated as such.
