1  Discussions / General Discussions / Re: Java's built in Scripting engine on: 2013-11-12 06:35:29
Beware, it's an outdated version of Rhino...
Would it be better to download the newer version and just use the jar?
i.e. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Rhino/Download_Rhino?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=RhinoDownload
2  Discussions / General Discussions / Re: Java's built in Scripting engine on: 2013-11-12 06:30:49
I've often experimented with scripting in my game but whenever I do it I bind my own classes through the script engine:
1
2
ScriptEngine engine = factory.getEngineByName("JavaScript");
engine.put("Name", class);

So if I put in for example java's System class
1
engine.put("sys", System);

In javascript you could do
1
sys.out.println(".....");

It works same, but is just a different way
Good luck with it, I always have found it very powerful!
3  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: Scene2D Select Box makes Screen Flash on: 2013-11-11 06:19:42
Strange. Comment out the fade and see if that fixes it. Are you calling stage.act()? Maybe you draw other scene2d widgets without setting the color first? You can't expect the SpriteBatch color to be white, other widgets may change it.
Thank you! I didn't change the SpriteBatch's colour before in my own widgets, but now I am it all works Smiley
4  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: Scene2D Select Box makes Screen Flash on: 2013-11-10 21:54:33
It is a class in Select Box: https://github.com/libgdx/libgdx/blob/master/gdx/src/com/badlogic/gdx/scenes/scene2d/ui/SelectBox.java
5  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: Scene2D Select Box makes Screen Flash on: 2013-11-10 20:28:37
I have been looking at the source code and I think it may be the fade in actions, yet I cannot remove them, because they are in a private subclass (SelectList).

Does anyone know how I could remove these actions or am I on the wrong track?

Thanks, Max
6  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Scene2D Select Box makes Screen Flash on: 2013-11-10 18:17:03
Hey, I am using LibGDX's Scene 2D and have added in a SelectBox. However when ever I click on it to select it the whole screen flashes
A Gif (Hopefully this shows you what I mean)
Click to Play

Edit: To see it better go to http://gyazo.com/adf1aefaa51413aadc49df96fd6daba0 and click on mp4

The code:
1
2
3
4
SelectBox engines = new SelectBox(new String[] { "Basic Engines", "Advanced Engines", "Advanced Engines" }, Game.ui.skin);
engines.setPosition(20, getHeight() - 240);
engines.setSize(250, 40);
addActor(engines);

Does anyone know how to stop this as it is annoying and looks odd.
Thanks in advance Smiley !

Thanks for all your advice!

Really nice game! I like the graphics and the physics.

For some reason the volume down / up keys on my keyboard makes the melon jump?

Thats weird...
Still the same, but it really seems to be my personal problem because it's the same in heisenbergman's LoGaP...
Okay, really sorry about that. Did LoGaP use LibGDX?

23  Games Center / WIP games, tools & toy projects / Re: Super Swap on: 2013-07-01 05:43:50
Your openAL version is not high enough, is my guess. Or, at the very least, the game isn't recognizing your current video drivers. Something like that.
Thanks, Drenius could check / update them?
24  Games Center / WIP games, tools & toy projects / Re: Super Swap on: 2013-06-30 18:17:29

Er... is there a big difference?
Not really, but it kinda looks like it is going in now, instead of coming out? I am not sure why kpars wanted to see?
