Java3D is definately very active. There has been a 1.4 release and the 1.5 release is in beta and almost ready for release. There are many new features and more are already planned for in the 1.6 roadmap. I am trying to work out how to play ogg files using joal. I have read some posts and looked at http://home.halden.net/tombr/ogg/ogg.html.
