Send me a message if you still need people Smiley

Thanks guys for the info.
I already know programming, I'm pretty good in Java but I'm nothing flash at C# and C++

I'm thinking of having a meeting with a few members of staff and discussing all the advantages of programming, how vital it is in our society, and how people should be brought into it from a young age.

Thanks again guys  Smiley

I think that doing programming at school could really help me with experience, and I think it would be a good way for my friends to learn so we can make stuff together.
Anyway, I want to suggest the idea to the IT teacher, but are there any programs/books or anything else you guys would suggest?
At the moment I think that it would be a cool think to be a part of a club at school for programming and I really want this to happen, so has anyone done this kind of thing before?

Cheers

Seems like a really good game, but I think that smooth movement could really help, it would make the game feel more natural.
Other than that keep up the good work Smiley

Works fine and fast for me on Windows 8 Smiley
Keep up the good work, this could be a pretty cool game if you put the effort in Cheesy

Runs fine for me on Windows 8. The only thing that I would suggest is to try and limit the build height or the maximum height that the character can go as you can position the mouse underneath the characters sprite and hold the up button and you can jump to an infinite height...

Also maybe change the block size or character's size as I find that balancing on one single block is not natural, maybe just play around with sizes or something.

P.S. I had a consistent 60 FPS Cheesy

The game is awesome, but I don't really like using the mouse to fire... Apart from that the game is excellent! I really like the gameplay over graphics approach, but maybe a little more colour would be nice Smiley

You should make a website so we can keep track of the project there...
Do it!

12  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: New Guy who needs help on: 2012-10-17 14:40:24
Don't start out trying to make a game. There is no use going through tutorials and saying that you can make games if you don't understand what is happening and how the code works. Watch thenewboston's tutorials on YouTube or read a book on Java, when you think that you are comfortable with the language then start making games. I'm not trying to be mean in saying this, I'm just giving you the best advice I can. Hope it helps!
13  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: Saving game data to file/loading it on: 2012-10-09 05:44:32
Writing to a text file would be really easy, but then people can  access it and change their stats. Apart from that I think that is very easy.
14  Game Development / Newbie & Debugging Questions / Re: 2D Graphics Other Than Java2D on: 2012-10-09 05:43:09
Use Slick2D I find it the most simple to use and there are loads of tutorials on the web about it, it you need them...
