Now Aparapi will iterate through available 1.1 platforms and locate the first GPU device.
Shouldn't it locate the best GPU device?

Does it support Intel inbuilt graphics?

Now what I'm interested in is the point at which it consistently drops under about 27fps and stays there, and also whether it seems smooth or erratic.
300  Emo
It's smooth.

Last one did too.

I know this is totally different... but I was playing Minescraft on high settings.

Did you try this trick?:

Framerate seems stable for me now.
400 crabs gives me 15 fps.
Sad You're not going to be playing any Puppygames any time soon then...

Darn and this was the top model 2 years ago. I hacked it a little, forcing my graphics drivers to be 16bit and now I can do 500 but that's all it seems.

I'd start by getting a website that didn't look like it was from the 1990s. persecutioncomplex
Agreed. No one is going to trust a site like that. It's so easy to make a goodish looking site with all the free themes out there.

I've managed to crash it twice, didn't get any message as to *why* it crashed,
You need to check the Android log file. I personally look it up in Eclipse. But you can get Android app to look at it or I believe there might be a hidden log file where it stores it.

Especially as an NPE is impossible on that line. Hm. Running the version which creates 10 crabs per tap, yes? Shows crab count and FPS?
Yep and yep. I crashed by spamming.

Also I noticed that if you phone goes to sleep while its running, it will remove all the crabs but still have the old counter when you wake it back up.

Also I just got it to crash:

At the 600 mark, I just left it and it goes from 16fps to 60fps and cycles. Some heavy garbage collection going on?
I'm using a custom rom on my Milestone 1 on Android 2.3.5.

Sounds like I used Closures quite a bit in C# when it came to collection filtering and sorting. So can't wait till its in Java.

so this is "only" for media files I assume
Currently for videos, music and jpegs. This will expand over time. I was looking into PDF for the next version but wasn't as simple as I hoped.

Yeah didn't really want to go into editing the metadata so much. I want to keep the application easy and simple to use. But I'll see when I start adding in the feature.

Was a pleasure. Add CDDB support and automatic ID3-Tag correction to the feature list and I am a happy chap.
I could add some metadata writing support. Say if the metadata is missing from a music file then it could look it up online and then write it back into the metadata. Then could give a right click menu option if the user wants to force looking up the music file online. I'll put it down on my list to do.

18  Discussions / Miscellaneous Topics / Rename and sort files application - feedback needed on: 2011-09-07 10:42:32
I thought I would post on my latest project and see if I can get some feedback.

I've created an application that allows a user to drag and drop files which auto cleans it's file name and sorts it depending on it's file type.

The application is quite new so it's in beta and no installer yet (its an executable jar file).

The website is www.renameandsort.com

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4BSYOQoZb4

Download: RaS

For those who think this application is handy Smiley, the crowdfunding page: http://www.indiegogo.com/Automatic-rename-and-sort-files-application

Any feedback would be great.

I used pmd but found it too annoying.

I basically just use findbugs.

Just wondering what average hours per day would you want?

I guess it's because your on Ubuntu. Because I'm on Chrome 11.0.696.60 on Windows.
Which is odd that they have done that.

Worked ok here.
One problem I did notice that it squished the width in the video. Like it didn't understand my screen is widescreen.

Works nicely here.
Edit: I got my green block stuck by hitting the blue blocks from above, since blue blocks can't knock other blue blocks the green block just stayed there.

30  Discussions / Business and Project Management Discussions / Re: [Paid] I need graphic 2/3D and programmer for an MMO possibly in London on: 2011-04-15 11:05:47
Frann as someone who's been a project manager for a MMO nearly 3 years, you probably not going to get any luck. The best way to start a MMO without the start up cash is to start it yourself. Get a small playable demo out(even if its crappy) and a place for a community to hang out, then start recruiting people who want to help in the project.
