You are a happy go lucky little fellow, minding his own business spreading Christmas cheer and delight when suddenly... An arena appears! Fight to the death against blood thirsty zombie elf (things) who will stop at no cost to kill you in an infinite amount of random levels!

This is my Ludum Dare 28 entry, my first ever! Although I hit a lot of bumps at the end (read my history, I had a way too hard of a time trying to get sound to work!), I had a lot of fun and it made me realize a lot of things that I need to work on! The cool part of it was that I realized I could make a game in ~48 hours (if you don't include the time it took to write and debug a OpenAL wrapper)! I never knew I could do that! Anyway, here's the link to the page:

Its not much, but I'm pretty happy with it!

The goal of the game is to survive long enough to collect eight coins, one coin per level. Once you have that, a side passage will open up and you will be greeted with a lovely picture Smiley

Press E to obliterate zombies off the face of the Earth, but be warned, you can only do it once per level, and it kills a random amount of zombies!

When you have three coins you can enable invincibility.

It looks nice, good job. I wish I could complete something more than pong. It comes with time I suppose.
I'm (again) at the point of having started a new project, getting halfway through it and realising I don't know something, so I'm spending days learning every little detail. Oh well; I have a feeling that I'll finally complete my next project even if it takes a month or two. It's something that I've wanted to do for a while.

Why are all OpenGL tutorials written in Brainf**k?

I've never finished many games before, this one was different because it was for Ludum Dare. Making a game that you know will be seen by hundreds of people definitely pushes you to make a good game, and its really amazing to see how fast you can finish it! I was done at around 40 hours, but my sound system broke and I had to write a new one which took ~8 hours to learn everything I needed to know Sad But really, study some more and do the next jam!

This is a great accomplishment! Just be proud and happy you have completed and deployed something from start to finish. I've spent 90% of my time working on prototypes and ideas for over 10 years. I am getting back to the basics, lol.
