Sounds really interesting, could you be a little more specific as to the location?

Any chance of a sponsored work visa? We all know that the best J2ME developers are from Europe. <ducks>

Oh so that's where all the j2ME Programmers have been hiding.  Wink

I think having to obtain a visa makes it alot tougher, but if the programmer is a superstar then we are always interested.

Programmers with J2ME experience are a hot commodity right now.  Mobile games is exploding, so now isn't the time to swear off the stuff.

Well, yes, that's why I said what I said. Wink

In an attempt not to go too much off-topic in your post, I'll put the following in small font:

I firmly believe that j2me is just a passing thing.

The boom we're seeing now will either lead to the death of the mobile gaming industry due to a real lack of interest from the end users (unlikely), or to a higher demand of better and faster mobile gaming devices (very likely).

Better and faster gaming devices means CLDC won't be needed, and shortly after that, the devices should be able to run proper java instead of the abomination they run now.

Of course, this entire rant is based on the assumption that there are people willing to develop in j2me.

No need to worry about that.

Markus,

I'm going to answer that based on what I was told by someone who is running a wireless game company, because this was a concern of mine.  So if it's way off the mark it's not my fault.  Wink

I heard that the majority of the people who download mobile games are women.  The game industry has been struggling, trying to find a way to market women (the buying power in this country) for ages.  It looks like they've done it with mobile.

As for the people wanting faster and better mobile devices, I agree.  There is a push to make them better, faster, stronger.  I'm sure the devices will be running proper Java in no time and mobile games will be better and faster and thriving.

If anyone posts today and I do not respond until tomorrow, I'm not dodging you.  My son is home sick today with a fever.  Embarrassed

I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Thanks
