first sorry for all that suggestion but you've asked for Smiley

what about Applet in post, at first it sound not to be a good idea but I dont mean direct applet (as it can become boring), but the ability to add an image (a JGO specific one or a user one ? ) that when clicked (maybe a standard button should float over "Start Applet") start the applet in the forum directly by replacing the html by the applet html (innerHTML or iframe), would be awesome and for one time innovating in comparaison of other new possible features

plzzzz

Interesting idea, I like it. It would be pretty easy to implement, but once again I'll need to be able to actually change the BB code to do that, and right now I don't have access.

thinking about it, I just realized that it may requiere some work (lot more than for a flash video include), I mean applet requiere at least a class file, ok, but lot of time they requiere an archive and some times they may requiere additional files... finally it seems pretty hard and it will requiere some tricks/hacks to make it work....

NB : it may help http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=48

yeah its simple enough, with the current setup, to include a screen shot. and click on the image to open the applet in another window.

If its a head ache to setup applets in a user friendly way, you could always have it so that only the OP can allow for a single applet.

As long as I have to click on it to play (even on my powerful desktop the startup time is noticable), then I also second this. It's just silly not to have the ability to embed applets on a Java game programming forum.

We need some way to show applets. Have a custom BB code that can do it. Which could even limit it to the one sub forum, or have a Javascript click to load.

We made something similar to this approach at our blog, here is a post about it, and here is a working example. I think it could be of help.
