A continuation of the thread here:

http://www.java-gaming.org/topics/jgo-comp-2008-2/19075/view.html

The contest has officially started.

Come be a part of the JGO Comp 2008, a Java game competition that is taking place from August 22nd - August 26th. Programmers get exactly 3.5 days (84 hours) to complete their projects and must use two themes and a sprite sheet.

http://www.otcsw.com/contest.php

The sprite sheet:

The first theme:
Apocalypse

The second theme:
White Picket Fence

Good luck!

Not at this juncture, but I'd be happy to organize one if there was enough interest. Last year two people entered, one of which was me. I don't think I'll have time to enter again but I could still do the organizing.

I know what you mean! Cheesy I'm organizing a compo just for the jMonkeyEngine that takes part right now. (Day2 of 7). And we are (as it seems) 3 people (including me) Cheesy. Well, I'm always interested in compos Cheesy....I won't have time in july but the compo don't have to be started right now, right....nevertheless we could ask for the the interest of others to enter a compo...and if there is no feedback we still have the LDs Cheesy

I never saw this thread last year... Undecided

I'm asking for a programming compo, it's the only way to get me on the mood to make games.. so, count me in. Grin

Hehe,...good to hear! I'm in also! If I have the time....my friends are marrying like crazy at the moment and there are much weekends lost just because of that Cheesy. Maybe we can do something like an open date-finding!? Like this tool here: http://www.doodle.com/ I used it for the compo I'm organizing right now ( http://www.tomtro.org )  Ok,..keep on rocking!
